Overview

A plantation drive linked to campus development and environmental care

The Old Students’ Association (OSA) of Government College Dharamshala organized a large-scale Tree Plantation Drive in the college campus as part of its commitment towards environmental sustainability and campus development.

The initiative was undertaken to strengthen ecological awareness while reinforcing the strong bond between the institution and its alumni community. The drive symbolized the alumni’s dedication to nurturing both the environment and the legacy of their alma mater.

The event was graced by Kangra Deputy Commissioner Hemraj Bairwa, who attended as the Chief Guest and formally inaugurated the plantation drive by planting a sapling near the college entrance.

Their collective participation turned the event into a celebration of environmental responsibility and institutional pride.

Species selected to improve ecological balance and campus beauty

During the campaign, over 150 saplings were planted across different parts of the college campus.

These species were selected to enhance both the ecological balance and aesthetic beauty of the campus.

Speaking during the event, Sanjeev Gandhi, President of the Old Students’ Association, emphasized the importance of alumni engagement and environmental stewardship.
